Pride Cares seeks to live out our faith and represent Jesus’ love and compassion by being responsive to the needs of queer individuals, vulnerable peoples, and their allies in times of disasters by offering immediate and intermediate relief services.
Pride Cares also seeks to provide timely disaster response, aid provision, and care to our immediate church members and their families, indigent LGBTQIA+ individuals, PLHIV, and LGBTQIA+ elderly experiencing crises. This is in alignment with and a manifestation of one of the tripartite missions of Open Table MCC which is “to participate in God’s wider work of justice.”
Pride Cares aims to be the sustainable go-to subsidiary organization of Open Table MCC for collaborative, inclusive, and compassionate LGBTQIA+ support and response during disasters and crises. We also aim to be an avenue for community building and outreach. We uphold love, dignity, and humanity so we can help restore stability in communities and ensure that everyone is given access to timely and comprehensive disaster response services, regardless of sex and gender, towards a shared holistic community resilience.
