Delivery of 50 relief bags and 6 sacks of rice to a community in Novoleta, Cavite.
We coordinated with Rev. Bong E. and with UCCP San Miguel with their pastor, Rev. Noemi for this relief mobilization.
We also heard testimonies from two individuals in the community. According to them, the flood submerged every house in their area specially those that did not have a second floor. Majority of their appliances have been destroyed beyond repair. Some furnitures were also broken. Clothes were soiled in flood water and mud. The pastor’s own clothes, vestments, and possessions were also devastated. It took a week to clear and clean all the mud from their homes, church facility, and streets, and still much needs to be done.
Members, leaders, and regular attendees of Open Table MCC had a short service in the chapel in Mandaluyong, and afterwards went to Novoleta, Cavite to deliver and distribute the relief bags.
We are thankful for the two leaders who provided the transport and drove to Novoleta. We thank everyone who participated and who gave funds for this relief mobilization. We are grateful to the denominational leadership of global MCC for also contributing for this disaster relief.
We pray that the City of Novoleta and the many other towns and cities that were devastated by Typhoon Paeng will be able to recover sooner than later. We pray with and for those who lost their loved ones and their properties.
